CASSA Social Justice Summit 2024

At times when it feels like the world is on fire, the Council of Agencies Serving South Asians (CASSA) is pleased to present the 2nd Annual Social Justice Summit“Decolonizing Practices and Service Delivery: Agency to Racialized People and Resolute Allyship”. The summit will tackle various pressing social justice issues, such as the decolonization of workplaces, racialized people’s access to housing, countering hate, politics of allyship and settler responsibilities, among others.

Event Details:

  • Date: Monday, March 4, 2024
  • Time: 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM
  • Location: Centennial College Progress Campus Event Centre – 937 Progress Ave, Scarborough, ON M1G 3T8

Parking:

  • Parking is available in Lots 2 and 3, located on the north and northeast side of the building.
  • Obtain a ticket from the machine to open the parking gate.
  • During your event registration, your convenor will provide you with a parking voucher.
  • Upon exit, insert your original ticket. When prompted to pay, insert the parking voucher provided by the organizers of the event and the gate will open.

Tickets:

  • Tickets are priced at a nominal rate of $20 to ensure accessibility for all and to ensure those who register will attend the Summit.
  • Students are eligible for a full ticket reimbursement upon the presentation of their student ID at the registration desk.

[4:00 – 4:45 PM] Politics of Allyship: Settler Responsibility and establishing relationships between Indigenous and settler communities

[4:45 – 5:00 PM] Closing Remarks

*Breakfast and lunch will be provided. Halal and Vegetarian options will be available.
