Democracy, Women’s Empowerment and Gender Equality: Exploring Connections: With Carla Koppell

Saturday July 8th, 2023

11 AM ET / 8 AM PT

Democracies around the world are facing strains. The tensions are affecting progress advancing women’s rights and gender equality. Further, the tumult is revealing ways progress towards equality has implications for democratic resilience, and the ways backsliding places women’s rights at risk.

As part of our 2023 CFUW AGM, we are inviting everyone to join us for a FREE webinar presentation from our keynote speaker, Carla Koppell, Interim Vice Dean for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion and Managing Director of the Georgetown Institute for Women, Peace, and Security.

This presentation and discussion will overview some of the recent trends, discuss contemporary research, and consider the road ahead. Remarks will be followed by question and answers.
