Gender-Based Violence in the Media: Online Launch event

Join Aura Freedom and collaborators for an informative event focused on Gender-Based Violence (GBV) in the media. This event is designed for journalists and GBV advocates who are passionate about promoting change through their work.

During this online event, you’ll have the opportunity to learn from industry experts in both the journalism and GBV sectors. Through engaging discussions and a presentation of Aura Freedom’s GBV In The Media project – including their new media guidelines for journalists – we will explore the role of media in addressing gender-based violence. We will also explore the challenges faced by journalists reporting on these issues, and hear about the efforts of GBV advocates to promote responsible and transformative reporting of GBV in Canadian media.
