In Pursuit of Reproductive Justice

This panel discussion focuses on the high rates of maternal mortality and morbidity among African, Caribbean & Black women in Canada, as well as the many systemic barriers and challenges they face in accessing healthcare and mental health support. The panelists will also discuss the importance of reproductive justice, including its history, the need for comprehensive sexual health education and access to safe, affordable, and accessible reproductive healthcare services. With this discussion we will further highlight the urgent need to address the systemic injustices and inequalities that impact Black maternal health in Canada, and the importance of centering the experiences and voices of African, Caribbean & Black mothers in policy and programming efforts.

The event will conclude with a Q&A session, where audience members will have the opportunity to ask the panelists questions and engage in further discussion.
