Why Climate Action Needs Women, Religious Actors and Local Partners

Disasters have an acute disproportionate effect on those in vulnerable situations, especially women and girls. Women and girls in all their diversity are on the frontline of the climate emergency. In communities experiencing climate-induced crises, women, religious and local actors are frequently first responders, advocating for policy changes, and transforming social norms. This event will focus on intersectional climate action from the grassroots to the global, and how women in all their diversity, religious and local actors are critical stakeholders in achieving gender equality and climate justice.
